One Thing

Scripture Anchors

  • Mark 10:21 – “One thing you lack…”
  • Psalm 27:4 – “One thing have I asked of the Lord…”
  • Luke 10:42 – “One thing is needed…”
  • Philippians 3:13 – “One thing I do…”

Reflection
Jesus told the rich man, “One thing you lack.”
David the psalmist declared, “One thing I have asked and seek after.”
Jesus told Martha, “One thing is needed.”
Paul told the Philippians, “One thing I do.”

Each of these moments points us toward focus. What is the “one thing” in your life right now? Is it following Jesus more closely, dwelling in His presence, being attentive to His Word, or letting go of the past to press forward?

If we are honest, there is most likely one thing we can do better. The challenge is to identify it and begin today.

Snapshot of Truths

  • Lack can be filled by following Jesus wholeheartedly (Mark 10:21).
  • Desire can be centered on dwelling in God’s presence (Psalm 27:4).
  • Need can be met by choosing the good part (Luke 10:42).
  • Focus can be sharpened by pressing forward in faith (Philippians 3:13).

Takeaway
Work on your “one thing” today. Let it be the step that draws you closer to God. ❤️
