The Awakening
THE STIRRING
This is when something inside you begins to hunger.
You can’t explain it.
You just know there’s more.
Signs of the Stirring:
– You feel drawn to God in a new way
– Scripture begins to feel alive
– You sense a shift in your desires
– You feel uncomfortable with old patterns
– You feel God tugging at your heart
This is the Holy Spirit whispering, “Wake up.”
THE SURRENDER
Awakening requires one thing: openness. Surrender.
Not perfection.
Not knowledge.
Not worthiness.
Just openness.
Surrender sounds like:
– “Lord, I’m listening.”
– “I don’t know everything, but I’m willing.”
– “I want You more than I want control.”
This is where the Spirit enters.
This is where the fire begins.
THE ENCOUNTER
This is the moment the Spirit confirms Himself.
It may feel like:
– warmth
– fire
– tears
– peace
– release
– clarity
– a rumble in your chest
– a weight lifting
– a presence settling
It’s not emotional hype.
It’s not imagination.
It’s not suggestion.
It’s God.
This moment marks you.
You will never be the same.
THE NEW SENSITIVITY
After awakening, you begin to notice things differently.
You become sensitive to:
– God’s voice
– God’s nudges
– God’s warnings
– God’s peace
– God’s conviction
– God’s timing
You also become sensitive to:
– what drains you
– what distracts you
– what disturbs your spirit
– what no longer aligns with who you’re becoming
This sensitivity is not weakness.
It’s discernment being born.
HOW TO PROTECT YOUR AWAKENING
Awakening is precious.
It must be guarded.
Protect it by:
– staying in the Word
– praying even when you don’t feel like it
– surrounding yourself with believers who are awake
– avoiding environments that dull your spirit
– listening when God says “no”
– honoring the convictions He gives you
– resting when He tells you to rest
Your awakening is a seed.
Guard it until it becomes a tree.
HOW TO DISCERN THE SPIRIT’S VOICE
Discernment is the ability to recognize what is God, what is you, and what is not of God.
The Spirit’s voice:
– aligns with Scripture
– brings peace, even when it challenges you
– is gentle but firm
– leads you toward righteousness
– never contradicts God’s character
– never manipulates, pressures, or confuses
Your own voice:
– is often emotional
– changes with mood
– seeks comfort
– avoids discomfort
The enemy’s voice:
– brings fear
– brings confusion
– brings shame
– pushes you into haste
– contradicts the Word
– distorts truth
Discernment grows with practice.
The more you listen, the clearer it becomes.
WHAT IT MEANS TO DISCERN
To discern is to:
– see beyond the surface
– hear beyond the noise
– sense beyond the natural
– recognize spiritual truth
– identify spiritual danger
– understand God’s direction
– choose wisely
– walk in alignment
Discernment is not suspicion.
It is spiritual clarity.
FINAL WORD FOR THE ONE WHO DESIRES AWAKENING
If you are reading this and something inside you is stirring…
If you feel the pull…
If you feel the hunger…
If you feel the longing…
That is God.
You don’t need to have all the answers.
You don’t need to be perfect.
You don’t need to understand everything.
You just need to be open.
Say, “Lord, I surrender.”
And let Him awaken you.
