From Fear to Love

When I was younger, I learned about God through fear.

People told me, “Hurry up and get right or you’ll be left behind.”
Movies showed people disappearing, and the rest trapped in darkness.
I didn’t understand much, but I understood fear.
And fear stayed with me.
But fear was never the message Jesus preached.

The Bible says,
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.”
— 1 John 4:18

Fear pushes people away.
Love pulls people close.

As I grew, I began to read the stories of Jesus for myself.
And what I found surprised me.
Jesus didn’t run around scaring people into the Kingdom.
He didn’t threaten them, pressure them, or shame them.
He didn’t say, “Hurry up before God gets you.”

Jesus preached something completely different.
Jesus preached LOVE

When asked what mattered most, Jesus said:
“Love the Lord your God… and love your neighbor as yourself.”
— Matthew 22:37–39

Love was the center of everything He taught.
Jesus preached RELATIONSHIP, not religion

He said,
“I no longer call you servants. I have called you friends.”
— John 15:15

Jesus didn’t come to build a rulebook.
He came to build a relationship.

Jesus preached RESTORATION

He said,
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me. To heal the brokenhearted.”
— Luke 4:18

Jesus came to fix what was broken, not to frighten the broken.

Jesus preached FORGIVENESS

He said,
“Your sins are forgiven.”
— Luke 7:48

Not shame.
Not punishment.
Not fear.

Forgiveness.

Jesus preached the KINGDOM OF GOD

Not a kingdom of terror, but a kingdom of peace.
He said,
“The Kingdom of God is near.”
— Mark 1:15

Near, not threatening.
Near, not hiding.
Near, not waiting to punish.

The Bible says the Old Covenant was a “guardian”. like training wheels, until Christ came.
— Galatians 3:24

The Old Covenant taught discipline.
The New Covenant teaches love.

Jesus said,
“This cup is the new covenant in My blood.”
— Luke 22:20

A new way.
A better way.
A way built on love, not fear.

My calling is simple, it’s standing in the Gap

Some people read the Bible easily.
Some don’t.
Some understand big words.
Some don’t.
Some grew up with good teaching.
Some grew up with fear.

But God’s love is for all of us.

So I write simply.
I teach gently.
I explain clearly.
I stand in the gap for the ones who feel lost, confused, or left behind by complicated words and fearful messages.

Because the truth is simple:

“God isn’t trying to scare you.
He’s trying to love you.”

Jesus said,
“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28

Not fear.
Not pressure.
Not panic.

Rest.
Relationship.
Restoration.
Love.

This is the message of Jesus.
This is the message of the New Covenant.
This is the message I carry.
