Scripture Anchors
“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
Proverbs 16:9 ESV
“There is a way which seems right to a person, but its end is the way of death.”
Proverbs 14:12 NASB
The Vitamin
When you get a new product, do you read the directions — or do you try to figure it out on your own?
Many of us tinker, twist, and troubleshoot for minutes or even hours, only to risk damaging the product or using it in a way it was never designed to function.
Or think about driving.
Have you ever tried to reach a destination without checking the GPS, convinced you could figure it out?
Only to end up lost… or at a dead end?
Something in us defaults to autopilot — that inner voice that says, “I got this.”
But that voice often leads us in circles.
So while we’re still early in the year, why not make a shift?
Stop taking shortcuts.
Stop guessing.
Stop assuming.
Read the directions.
Yes, read the directions for products.
Yes, use the GPS when you need it.
But above all — read the directions from the Word.
God’s Word will always put you on the right path.
The Directions
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.”
Proverbs 3:5–6
He is the Author… and the Finisher.
The Heart Check
- Are you relying on your own understanding?
- Are you taking shortcuts instead of following God’s instructions?
- Are you letting autopilot lead you into confusion?
- Are you reading the Word — or just reacting to life?
God’s directions are clear.
His path is safe.
His guidance is sure.
